Central Louisiana local food movement partners, advocates, and supporters should mark their calendars for Friday, March 11th. This year’s Foodapalooza, to be held at the Kress Theatre in downtown Alexandria will include unique presentations, skill-building workshops and local food and farm activities.
The highlight of the event is keynote presenter Mary Berry, Director of the Berry Center, an organization focused on issues confronting small farmers. Berry was recently named one of the South’s 26 Rising Stars by Garden and Gun Magazine. In the magazine, Berry states: “We need to fix the broken connection between urban places and rural places, we all need to be agrarians.”
